Know when a supplier's bank account details change in Xero.

The problem

When a supplier's bank account details change in Xero, Xero sends a notification only to the user who made the edit, not to their manager, not to the business owner, and not to whoever actually pays the invoices. If that Xero user account is compromised, or the change was made by mistake, nobody else finds out until a payment has already gone to the wrong account.

There is also no report in Xero listing every bank detail change across your contacts over time. When an auditor or a new bookkeeper asks to see every bank detail change this year, there is nothing in Xero to hand them.

What it does not do

LedgerWatch detects that a contact's bank details changed, and when. Where Xero records who made the change, we show that person's name. Xero only gives us a name, not an email address or a user ID. If a change was made through an integration or API rather than a person in Xero, we say so rather than naming someone. Xero doesn't record this for every change, so attribution won't always be available.

Monitoring starts from the moment you connect your organisation. Bank detail changes made before that point are not visible, because there was nothing yet on record to compare them against.
