What LedgerWatch cannot do
Worth reading once, so you know what to rely on LedgerWatch for and what you still need to check yourself.
Monitoring starts when you connect
LedgerWatch has nothing to compare against before you connect an organisation. A bank detail that was already wrong, or that changed before you connected, won't be flagged. There was nothing on record yet to notice the difference against.
A change made and reverted between checks may be missed
LedgerWatch compares snapshots taken roughly every 15 minutes. It sees the difference between one snapshot and the next. It doesn't watch Xero continuously. A change made and then changed back before the next check runs may never be seen.
Attribution isn't always available
Where Xero records who made a change, LedgerWatch shows that name. Xero doesn't always capture this. Some changes, especially ones made through an integration or the API rather than a person clicking through Xero, carry no attribution at all. No name shown doesn't tell you anything about who made the change; it just means Xero didn't record it.
It doesn't stop a payment
LedgerWatch only detects and reports changes. It has no ability to hold, block, or reverse a payment in Xero. Verifying that new details are genuine before you pay is still your responsibility. Treat every alert as a prompt to check, not as a verdict either way. See What an alert means and what to do.
